Who We Are

The Bishop Area Climbers Coalition supports the community and climbing areas of the Eastern Sierra through stewardship, education, and community engagement. We are a 100% volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit.

Our Goals

  • Act as a unified body representing climbers in the Bishop, California area to respond to regional issues affecting climbers and local climbing areas.

  • Engage with the community of Bishop, California, strengthening bonds between both local climbers and the resident non-climbing population, through events, fundraisers, and public outreach.

  • Assist in the maintenance and conservation of Bishop, California’s climbing landscapes through stewardship, volunteerism, and maintaining strong relationships with local land management agencies.

  • Contribute to the education of local and visiting climbers through outreach and individual engagement focused on climbing etiquette, cultural awareness, local conditions, gym-to-crag, camping, and proper utilization of public recreational assets.
