Alexa Flower will share stories from her expedition to Ak-Suu Valley in Kyrgyzstan, where she and three other women set out to free climb a 900-meter 5.13 big wall. Her presentation explores the challenges, partnerships, and perseverance required for such an ambitious objective in one of Central Asia’s most remote and striking alpine landscapes.
Alexa’s love for the mountains and rock climbing brought her to the Eastern Sierra over a decade ago. Her background in Yosemite—working on YOSAR and as a Climbing Ranger—along with her experience ski patrolling in Colorado, provide an understanding of both the landscapes and the people she photographs. She appreciates the outdoors as a place of adventure and also a space for stillness and reflection. Whether climbing, skiing, or simply wandering, the natural world continues to shape her. Through her work, she hopes to inspire others to see the world with fresh eyes.
Doors Open at 5:30 PM with the event starting at 6:00 PM at C5 Studios.
We can’t wait to see you there!
